THE SHE THREAD PROJECT

The She Tread Project by Vancouver based mixed media artist and Parker Art Studios resident Deborah Bakos made its debut in our front window. The project is an ever evolving, hand embroidered tapestry and vignette style installation, that is both a quiet protest and a call to action to end the systematic violence against women. 

The words of women throughout  history, pop culture, politics, and the like have been meticulously and lovingly hand stitched to create a 15ft x 15ft quilt by Deborah.

It was an absolute honour to be able to showcase graffiti in our space. Ms. Mable and her partner Hype stopped by the gallery with a giant Polyptych painting that they had collaborated on. But they didn't stop there, they jumped at the chance to sign our wall. And they even had a visit from local hip hop legend Moka Only (Swollen Members) who came by to visit and leave his mark. Their giant graffiti installation was a crowd favourite, and played the backdrop for DJ's, pop up markets, events, fashion shows and much more!
